The
issue of abortion is without a doubt one of the most difficult
issues in all of politics. People always seem to oppose
abortion until they or someone they love needs to use
the process.
While many people look down on abortion as a sin or a
crime, they can often be persuaded otherwise when they
are personally faced with the issue of an accidental pregnancy.
This hypocrisy is present in all walks of life and fits
the saying, "You shouldn't make opinions until you have
walked a mile in another man's shoes." Perhaps a good
example of this is with impoverished members of society.
If an accidental pregnancy occurs, it may be too much
for the family to care for another child. The family may
lack sufficient funding and the every member of the family
suffers, perhaps even to the brink of starvation. Even
many of the most respected politicians in our nation struggle
to admit that they would stop loved ones from having an
abortion. A good example of this is senator John McCain.
Although he is opposed to abortion, he honestly admitted
that had his daughter been in the situation where an abortion
was the best option for her, he would not have prevented
it. And lets not forget situations of rape. Why is it
the woman's responsibility to endure nine months of pain
and struggle because some heathen forced her into it.
This is absurd.
The second strong reason that the government should not
ban abortion is purely because of the fact that congress
is almost purely male. The bottom line here is that this
is a woman's body, and it is not the right of any man
to tell her what she can or can not do to it. While many
people argue that the fetus is an independent being, it
is still a part of the woman's body until nearly six months
into the pregnancy. This implies that it would die if
the woman died. Without more women in our congress, no
decision should be made telling them what they can do
to their own bodies.
A final reason that abortion needs to remain legal is
common sense. Even if the government attempts to regulate
abortions, they will still occur. Would you rather the
abortions occur in safe, clean clinics, where the risk
to the mother is minimal, or in back alley clinics, where
the mother is almost certain to die.
Finally, a quote that pretty well sums it all up: It's
PRO choice or NO choice.

Abortion - what I call today's slavery. Here are the facts
on this terrible institution we've been instituting since
the Supreme Court decision of Roe v. Wade in 1972.
Over 92% of all abortions are for CONVENIENCE. ¹
Every day 4,400 baby parts are thrown away as a result
of abortions. That is 1.6 Million babies a year, and it
approximately 46.5 Million babies since legalized abortion
was started back in 1972. ²
1/3 of all abortions in the United States are by return
aborters. ²
Researchers have linked abortion and breast cancer. In
fact, one abortion increases the risk of Breast Cancer
30%. ²
These statistics speak of the horrible existance of abortion.
Can you believe that 92% of all abortions are for Convenience!
That is from the liberal Planned Parenthood itself!
Legalized abortion in the United States began because
of a court case in 1972 called Roe v. Wade, where a woman,
using a fake identity and not actually pregnant, was chosen
by the ACLU to appeal it's case to the Supreme Court.
Roe [the ACLU] won, and to this day abortions on demand
have been the result.
Sit in your chair for a second (I'm guessing by now you've
decided to sit through this statement :), and just imagine
if you had been aborted. I don't know about you, but I
would take a life of hardship over no life at all, and
I think we ought to be thankful that we were permitted
to have LIFE in the first place! Have you ever thought,
too, that all of these pro-choice patrons are asking for
something to be placed on someone else that they would
NEVER have done upon themselves! We have got to stand
up for the Constitution, which states that we must PROTECT
LIFE, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
There are some cases whereby it sounds like abortion can
help someone. This is majorly a ploy of the left. It is
thought to be the case in three different scenerios: rape,
incest, and when the mother's life is in jeopardy. Remember
that these cases are the exception, less than 8% of the
cases!² Risk of the mother dying, with the
technology and options such as a Caesarian birth [a C-Section],
is very unlikely today unlike before. We have to remember
that although the baby of a rape or incest may not have
the desired bloodline, it still can be given up for adoption
if the mother does not want to keep it, and must remember
that rape and incest are results of a much larger problem
of immorality in America that has been increasing since
the late 1950s and abortion is not the "answer"
to this chaos that once was almost inexistant.
Furthermore, it has been observed that stem cells could
only be found from human embryos, or the baby parts thrown
away during an abortion. Well, a recent discovery by a
team of scientists and physicians uncovered that stem
cells could be obtained from human fat just the same.
Every person contains human fat, and each person's own
fat will not be rejected like human embryos, so it is
even better!
If you are a man defending LIFE, and someone says that
you don't understand because you aren't a woman, remember
that there are MANY women who defend LIFE, too. There
are lots of women, too, who have had abortions and have
talked about the trauma that resulted from their abortion,
and they defend LIFE almost more than I do! Remember,
too, that for over 200 years before we had the C-Section
technology of today, we never had legalized abortion,
and our country, in my opinion, is starting to fall apart
today because of it.
